- $25.00 Janeway Children's Hospital.
- $25.00 Epilepsy Newfoundland and Labrador.
- We have two scooters in use in our community.
- We continue to give get well/sympathy cards to residents of our community.
- We held our Santa Claus Parade on December 10th in partnership with the town of Garnish. Also during the parade we collected food for the food bank.
- We held our senior's party on December 12th.

- We are partners in Booth Charities TV Bingo.
- We continue to take part in VOCM Cares Bingo.

presented to a
deserving student of
our community. The
scholarship was
presented in memory
of our club's
deceased lions.

have two scooters in use in
our community.

Canada Day we held a flag
raising ceremony with the
singing of O' Canada.
A breakfast was served at
our building after the flag
raising. We also had the
cutting of our Canada Day
Cake. This activity was
attended by people of all
ages.
-We
continue to give get well
and sympathy cards to people
of Garnish and Frenchman's
Cove.

building.

are a partner in

ACTIVITIES
-We hired students to mow
our adopt-a-spot this summer.
-Our last club meeting was a
dinner meeting. We had Lion Lewis Payne, Zone Chair and three
other members from the Grand Bank Club in attendance. Lion Lew
did the insulation of our officers.
-We have received a
government project for our club valued at $35000. Hopefully work
will get underway soon.

Autism attend a Hawaiian Summer Camp.

help her attend a Global Leo Conference in
Seattle.

- Our Publicity Committee
have given out two sympathy cards, two get well cards and have
made two hospital visits.
- We helped the Anglican
Church with their cold plate takeout.
- Two of our members
represented our club at a meeting of the Health Foundation and
Zone 10.
- Our club along with clubs
in Zone 10 have committed to raise $250000 to make improvements
to the operating room at the Burin Hospital.
- With the help of our
friends we cleaned our adopted highway. A peasoup dinner was
served in our building after.
-
July 25th
we did our annual walk for prostate cancer ( Walk a Mile in His
Shoes Campaign ). We are proud to say that we raised
approximately $800.00. Friends of our club were once again a
tremendous help.
- We own two motor scooters
and have them in use in our community.
FUNDRAISER
ACTIVITIES
- We held a successful
tollgate. We collected $ 472.00. Proceeds going to Diabetes
Cavalcade.
- We rented our building for
a party.
- We are partners in Booth
Charities TV. Bingo.

ACTIVITIES
-Two of our members attended a Leadership Training Session at Max Simms Memorial Camp.
-We had four members from our club attend the Multiple District Convention in St. John's.
Donations and Charitable Activities
- $100.00 District Disaster Fund

- $50.00 Burin Peninsula SPCA.
- $100.00 Kin and Friends Radiothon in support of health care on the Burin Peninsula.
- We have set up a committee to make plans in the event of a disaster taking place in our area.
- Our Publicity Committee gave out two get well cards, one sympathy card and a fruit basket.
- We sell tickets at our meetings in support of Diabetes Cavalcade.
- We have two motor scooters in use in our community.
Fundraiser Activities
-We held our annual turkey cold plate fundraiser. We sold 450 plates. A successful fundraiser. We really appreciated the help we received from friends of our club.
-We are partners in Booth Charities TV. Bingo.
-We rented our building for a shower.
-We held a jamboree at our building.

- We held our annual Soup for Shut-Ins Project. For this project we take a bowl of soup and a cut of pie to those in our community who are shut-in.
- Our club is proud of Lion Tom who is now District Governor elect for our district and Lion Bruce who will be our Zone Chair. We were also very pleased to help Lion Tom with his hospitality room.
- We recently delivered a motor scooter to a resident of our community. We now have two motor scooters in use.
- Our Publicity Committee have delivered one get - well card and three sympathy cards to residents of our community.

-during our Santa Claus Parade we collected 30 pounds of food for the food bank.
-On December 18th our club held its annual Santa Claus Parade. The Town of Garnish paid 50% of the cost. The parade ended at The Garnish Community Centre where we gave all the children goody bags. We also requested store owners place boxes in their stores where people placed presents for their children. Santa presented the children with those gifts. A successful parade.
-this month the publicity committee of our club have given out 2 fruit baskets, 3 get well cards and 3 sympathy cards.
-fundraiser - we sold approximately 800 tickets on a quilt.
-sponsor mix darts on Friday Nights.
-we have a motor scooter in use in our community.
-tickets for fundraiser supporting Lion Max Simms Camp bought by our members.

-again this month our club helped the Salvation Army with their Christmas Kettle Campaign.
-continue to give get well and sympathy cards to the people of Garnish and Frenchman's Cove.
-our club celebrated 36 years of lionism on November 27th. There were approximately forty-five people present. We thank all of our guest for being with us on this special occasion and for their participation in the celebration. Our club with the help of friends prepared a hot turkey dinner. Also at the celebrations two one hundred dollar scholarships were presented to two deserving students from our town. Those scholarships were presented in memory of our club's deceased lions.
-we have a motor scooter in use in our community.
-repaired a fence for a lady living near our club.

-on December 9th we honoured our seniors by giving them a Christmas Party at our club. We had our local musicians provide music and songs from the Christmas Season. We treated them to a meal and other goodies given by our town and store owners. A visit from Santa was the highlight of the evening.
-the week of Dec. 6th to 10th we served breakfast to the students of Jamieson Academy

Activity Report for Nov. 2010.

1. Donations:
$75.00 to take a child to St. John's for medical attention.

2. For our World Service Day Project we visited the seniors at Garnish Seniors Home. We brought along local musicians and we had music and singing. We also provided fruit and vegetable trays. A good time was had by all.
3. We delivered a bouquet of flowers to a friend of our club who was in the hospital fighting cancer. She was very appreciative. Three weeks later our friend passed. A memorial service was held at our building ( her request ). All donations received were donated to our club.
4. We sponsor mix darts on Friday nights.
5. On Nov. 7/10, at our cenotaph, a Remembrance Day Ceremony took place that included wreath laying. Our Federal and Provincial politicians were in attendance. Fortune Legion with the help of our club and local clergy conducted the ceremony. After the ceremony people attending were treated to a lunch at the Lions Centre. We paid transportation for the Fortune Legion to travel to Garnish.

Effort. Thank to
the people of
our community
for their
support.

-Continuing with repairs to our building.
-We sponsor mix darts on Friday Night.
-Our club passed a motion to sponsor a junior
speak-off at the district level. All clubs in
our zone have been asked to do this.
-We sponsor a monthly jamboree at our building .
-We are planning an event to support the Haiti

Activities:
- We lent our
Santa Claus suit to Garnish Recreation
Commission for their kiddies breakfast with Santa.
- We continue to give
get well and sympathy cards to people of Garnish and
Frenchman's Cove.
- The week of
December 7th---11th our club served breakfast to the
students of Jamieson Academy School.
- On December 12th
our club held its annual
Santa
Claus parade. The Town of Garnish paid 50%
of the cost. The parade ended at the Garnish
Community Centre where we gave all the
children goody bags. We also requested stores to place
boxes in their stores where parents put presents for
their children. Santa presented the children with those
gifts. A successful parade.
- Some of our members

we were pleased to honour our seniors by having them
come to the Garnish Community Centre. We had local
musicians proving music and songs from the
Christmas
Season. We provided them with a meal and
other goodies, more singing and finally a visit from
Santa.
- On December 19th we
prepared a turkey dinner for the Garnish Fire
Department. They paid us $10.00 for each meal so we did
okay. We have provided this service for the last three
or four years, so one could safely assume they like our
cooking and hospitality.
- We are one of the
partners in Booth Charities TV Bingo.
- We were able to
access funds from the government for much needed repairs
to our building. We have new shingles on the roof and a
new floor. Repairs will continue until
early February.
- We sponsor mix
darts
on
Thursday nights.
